A wild police chase through the streets of Troutdale took an unexpected turn when the suspect leapt off a bridge into a freezing-cold river.
An officer attempted to pull over a driver for a minor traffic violation just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 242nd and Stark.
The officer ran the plates and discovered the vehicle was stolen. Instead of pulling over, the driver took off.
The chase lasted several miles and reached speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. Police dash cam video shows the car running red lights and stop signs while swerving through traffic.
When the car reached the Stark Street Bridge, the woman driving it bailed out of the moving car and jumped into the river.
