LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The UNLV men's basketball team, still smarting from having its seven-game win streak broken by Air Force on Saturday, is hoping to right the ship when it hosts Nevada, Reno on Wednesday.

The game, set to start at 6:15 p.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center, is part of the Governor's Series, which pits UNLV and UNR head-to-head in an athletic and academic challenge.

UNLV leads this year's series 9-3 and won last year's inaugural series. The winner of the season series in men's basketball will earn three points toward the final score.

The Runnin' Rebels' seven-game win streak began with a victory over Southern Utah on Dec. 14. Junior Roscoe Smith leads the nation in rebounding average with 12.7 rpg. He's also tied for first in the county in double-doubles with 10.

FOX5 will have highlights from Wednesday's game beginning at 10 p.m.
