LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

One person was critically injured during a fight and stabbing in west Las Vegas on Friday morning, according to police.

The incident happened at 6:25 a.m. near the intersection of West Flamingo and South Cimaron roads.

Officer Laura Meltzer of Las Vegas Metro police said officers received a call about 6:30 a.m. from someone in the 8200 block of Cimaron who said their friend had been stabbed. She said investigators connected the stabbing to a fight on Mammoth Creek Drive they had received a call about five minutes earlier.

Meltzer said the victim was taken to University Medical Center Trauma and was listed in critical condition.

Police are still searching for the person responsible for the stabbing, Meltzer said.
