The office of the Clark County coroner on Monday identified a man hit and killed by a train on Wednesday as Nathan Harvey, 21.
The office has not released Harvey's exact cause of death.
Union Pacific spokesman Aaron Hunt earlier said the man was trespassing when he was struck and killed by a freight train outside of the Las Vegas Valley.
The incident occurred about 6 a.m. on tracks east of Nevada Highway 604 and west of Interstate 15, south of Moapa.
The train originated in Los Angeles and was headed to Illinois.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
