FALLON, NV (FOX5) -

Authorities said a 24-year-old employee was flown to the University of California, Davis burn center in critical condition after a fire at an oil plant in northern Nevada.

Spokesman Curt Althof, of Careflight, said helicopter crews were dispatched to the Bango refinery near Fallon a little after 9 a.m. Monday.

Plant Manager Ron Bell told The Associated Press that 14 people were at the site at the time, and all are accounted for. He said he doesn't have information on what caused the fire, which sent black smoke billowing from the plant.

Churchill County sheriff's Capt. Mike Matheson said the fire hasn't created a threat to the general public.

Bango Refining is a Nevada-based company that recycles used oil. Bell says 40 people work there.
