LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Gas prices in the Las Vegas area Monday were down less than a penny from last week, according to GasBuddy.com.

The price-tracking website said the average cost for a gallon of gas was at $3.20 - four cents less than the national average.

Locally, the price was 6.5 cents lower than last month and 15.8 cents lower than last year. Nationally, the price was up 3.9 cents from last month, but down 10.4 cents from last year.

Experts said the stormy weather across the country will likely lead to a decrease in gas prices.

"Under conditions like that, consumer demand usually declines and that often results in a nominal decrease in retail gas prices," said Gregg Laskoski, senior petroleum analyst for GasBuddy. "That may be what lies ahead this week."

AAA reported the average price for a gallon of gas was at $3.28 in Nevada, $3.14 in Arizona and $3.59 in California.
