LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

With the Rebels' first postseason bowl berth in 13 seasons on the horizon, the University of Nevada, Las Vegas head football coach was rewarded Wednesday with a new three-year contract.

The school and coach Bobby Hauck agreed in principal to the new tender, the school's athletics department said. Terms were not immediately disclosed.

The deal locks Hauck through the 2016 season.

In what looked to be a make-or-break season for Hauck, his Rebels responded in their 2013 campaign by turning in a guaranteed non-losing regular season through 11 games. The team is looking to close out the season with seven total victories when it hosts San Diego State on Saturday.

"As I've said many times, my family and I are extremely happy at UNLV and love living in Las Vegas," Hauck said. "I am excited to tell our team and staff that we can now focus on continuing to build this football program and pursuing the ultimate goal of bringing a Mountain West Championship to UNLV."

Hauck is currently 12-37 in four years as the head coach for the Rebels. He garnered attention with UNLV after coaching University of Montana to seven straight winning seasons.
