Coroner names motorcyclist killed in west Vegas crash

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

The Clark County Coroner's Office released the name of a motorcyclist who died in a crash West Flamingo Road on Thursday.

Medical examiners say, 30-year-old Daniel James Varian II, of Las Vegas died of multiple blunt force injuries and his death was ruled an accident.

Las Vegas Metro police said the crash happened at Flamingo and Lindell roads just before 9 a.m. Thursday.

Police said Varian was riding a Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Flamingo when it overturned on its side while approaching Lindell.

The bike struck the back passenger side of an eastbound Chevy Impala at the intersection, ejecting the rider, police said.

The rider was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the sedan was hospitalized with minor injuries.

As of this incident, Metro investigated 92 traffic-related fatalities this year.
