LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Metro police on Friday made an arrest in a gang-related shooting which took place in June.

Monroe Jones, 41, is charged with burglary while in possession of a firearm, battery, attempted murder and discharge of a firearm in a structure.

On the morning of June 30, police were called to an apartment complex on Cunningham Drive, near H Street and Washington Avenue, following reports of several shots having been fired.

Police located victim Varrice Williams, 28, with gunshot wounds to the ankle, lower leg and groin.

Williams confessed to police that he was a member of the Donna Street Chips and that he thought the shooter was a member of the Westside Boys street gang.

In August, police received a tip that Monroe was the shooter and that the shooting was in retaliation for a robbery.

Monroe was booked into the Clark County Detention Center.
