LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The Rock ‘n' Roll Las Vegas Marathon is set for Sunday afternoon and several road closures will be in effect to accommodate it.
The marathon will include more than 30,000 runners and feature live bands and entertainment at each mile along the course.
This year the marathon and half marathon start at 4:30 p.m. The Zappos.com 1/2 of the Half begins at 3:30 p.m. Road closures will begin at 2:00 p.m.
Las Vegas Boulevard northbound and southbound will be closed between Sunset Road and Stewart Avenue. Las Vegas Boulevard southbound will be closed from Spring Mountain Road to Flamingo Road. This closure will be in effect from 10 a.m. Sunday until 2:00 a.m. Monday.
Martin Luther King Boulevard southbound will be closed from Brooks Street to Symphony Park Avenue.
Carey Avenue will be closed from Martin Luther King Boulevard to Rancho Drive.
E. Hacienda Avenue will be closed from Las Vegas Boulevard to Giles Street.
Flamingo Road will be closed from Koval Lane to Interstate 15.
The Fremont Street Experience will be closed from N. Main Street 4th Street.
In addition, several roads in downtown Las Vegas will be closed between Main Street and 11th Street.
It will be several hours before roads begin to reopen to traffic.
