Trial set for AZ man accused of school threats

FLORENCE, AZ (CBS5) -

A trial date has been set for an Arizona man accused of making threats against two Pinal County schools two years ago.

Trial for Antonio Ramirez, 39, of Superior, is set to begin on Jan. 6.

Ramirez is accused of leaving a voicemail at Kennedy Elementary on Nov. 7, 2011, threatening to burn employees at that school and Superior Junior/Senior High School.

On April 24, 2013, Ramirez allegedly made a threat against a school employee stating he would blow her up and everyone at her residence. The threat was also directed against both schools.

Ramirez was arrested on May 10.

Ramirez faces three Class 6 felony counts for the alleged incidents and is being held on a $100,000 cash bond.

He is accused of two counts of interfering with the peaceful conduct of an educational institution and one count of interfering with an educational institution.
