PRESCOTT VALLEY, AZ (CBS5) -

Two students and the driver of the SUV who hit a school bus Thursday morning were hurt in the collision.

Investigators with the Prescott Valley Police Department said Clifford Deane, 58, of Prescott Valley, was driving the SUV and heading south on Lone Cactus when he didn't stop at a stop sign, causing him to strike the bus about 8:15 a.m. Thursday.

The SUV driver and two children, a 6-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl, on the bus were taken to the hospital. Police said the children had minor injuries.

The extent of Deane's injuries wasn't known.

There were 44 students onboard the bus at the time of the collision, said Prescott Valley police Sgt. Brandon Bonney.

The rest of the children on the bus got onto another bus and were taken to their school, Granville Elementary.

Police said they cited Deane for failing to stop at a top sign. Investigators said they don't suspect the SUV driver was impaired.
