LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Medical examiners released the name of a 41-year-old motorcyclist who died Tuesday evening in a wreck.
The Clark County Coroner's Office, though, did not release a cause of death for Michael Lee Shackelford of Las Vegas.
According to Las Vegas Metro police, a man on a motorcycle was involved in the wreck on Silverado Ranch Boulevard near Maryland Parkway.
Citing witnesses, police said the motorcycle failed to stop in the path of a Kia that was turning into a shopping center parking lot. The eastbound motorcycle struck the right side of the westbound Kia, police said.
The Kia subsequently struck a Saturn that was exiting the parking lot, according to police.
Police said speed appeared to have been a factor in the accident, which happened at 5:38 p.m. The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Kia suffered minor injuries.
The incident marked the 87th traffic-related fatality in Metro's jurisdiction this year.
