The Clark County Coroner's Office released the name of a man who, police say, was shot when he tried to break in to his girlfriend's apartment.
Medical examiners said Frank E. Brzozowski, 49, of Henderson, died of multiple gunshot wounds as a result of a homicide.
Henderson police said Brzozowski's death stemmed from an attempted break-in at the apartment belonging to his estranged girlfriend in the area of Green Valley Parkway near Warm Springs Road early Sunday morning.
According to police, the victim and his girlfriend earlier attended a party where they were arguing. The woman took the victim to his home and then went back to her place. There, police said, the woman called on a friend at the complex, fearing her boyfriend would come to hurt her.
Police said Brzozowski showed up at his girlfriend's apartment and attempted to break in. Police said the woman's friend warned Brzozowski that he was armed. When the victim refused to stop, the friend shot and killed Brzozowski, police said.
The Clark County District Attorney's Office was looking into whether charges will be filed in the case. Police made no arrests following the shooting.
