Some dog lovers gathered at Tower Square to help out man's best friend on Saturday.
Kane's Krusade, a nonprofit designed to help dogs in need, held its second annual doghouse build.
Eight different groups got together, each building a weatherproof doghouse that will be donated to provide insulated shelter for dog owners who cannot afford it.
One of the building teams was made up of families that have been assisted by Kane's Krusade.
They said the nonprofit has helped them immensely.
"If it wasn't for the organization, I would have lost my dog," said Joel Hernandez. "I never wanted to give my dog up, so I figured lets see how this works and it has been amazing."
Each of the eight teams committed to raising at least $300 to cover the cost of materials, as well as a canine assistance starter kit that includes an exam, vaccinations and necessary items for a dog.
