Authorities said a prison inmate who walked away from a work detail in the Boulder Highway area Friday morning has been captured.
The Nevada Department of Corrections (NDOC) said Casey Davis walked away from his work assignment at 11:53 a.m. Friday in the area of Boulder Highway and Flamingo Road.
Davis was working with the Nevada Division of Forestry at the time.
NDOC said Davis was captured about 4:30 p.m. and is being taken to the High Desert State Prison. NDOC credited tips from the public for aiding them in taking Davis back into custody.
The corrections department said Davis was incarcerated for attempted grand larceny in September. He was sentenced to 12 to 30 months in prison and was due for release next August.
