LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A man who had been considered one of the most wanted parole violators in Nevada was captured in Las Vegas Monday.

The Nevada Division of Parole and Probation said Eric William Zessman, 59, was arrested after officers received a tip on his location in Las Vegas.

According to the division, Zessman had fled supervised release from jail in 2006. He was originally convicted of second-degree murder of a child in Carson City in 1976 but paroled in 1981.

The division said Zessman had committed crimes following each of his six parole releases since his 1981 release.

Of one of those crimes, Zessman was convicted in 1999 for an armed robbery in Las Vegas. Zessman was paroled and released in 2006 for that crime before eluding probation officers.

The division said the tip in Monday's capture also indicated Zessman had been abusing an elderly woman and been living with a person also involved in the 1997 armed robbery.

Zessman had been a long-time member of the Division of Parole and Probation's Top 10 Most Wanted list.
