Blustery conditions took down some power lines, leaving some people without electricity early Monday morning.
NV Energy reported a few outages, the largest of which was near the Las Vegas Strip and Valley View Boulevard where about 700 customers were without power.
The utility company also reported 650 customers in the Indian Springs area were without electricity, and another 70 customers were without power in the Goodsprings area.
NV Energy said crews are working to restore service as quickly as possible.
Gusty winds also knocked down a utility pole at the Clark County School District administrative building on Eucalyptus Avenue. A brief fire after the pole fell prompted an evacuation of the building, according the CCSD spokeswoman Melinda Malone. No injuries were reported.
High winds are forecast for most of Monday across much of southern Nevada. Winds as high as 50 mph are possible, with gusts as high as 60 mph.
