Police officers in North Las Vegas plan to enforce driving laws at major streets throughout the city in an event set for the weekend before Halloween.
North Las Vegas police scheduled a "Joining Forces" saturation patrol for Saturday, from 6:30 p.m. to 3 a.m.
According to the police department, officers plan to stop drivers for speeding, running red lights and failing to maintain travel lanes, all in order to identify impaired drivers.
Officers also intend to educate drivers and passengers on the dangers of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, police said.
The event is part of a "Joining Forces" campaign that is funded by the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Office of Traffic Safety.
