A pedestrian was struck and killed by a tractor-trailer early Tuesday morning.
State police responded to the report of the crash around 2:30 a.m. on Route 91 southbound in Longmeadow at the one mile marker.
The victim was identified as a young adult female. Her name is not being released at this time.
A preliminary investigation by state police suggests that the victim who was on foot when she was hit, may have been an occupant in a motor vehicle prior to the crash.
A portion of the highway near the crash was closed for an investigation for much of the early morning. It was reopened prior to the morning commute.
