A woman and her teenage son were rushed to a Phoenix hospital after they were stabbed while they slept early Monday morning.
Police identified the boy's father as a suspect, according to Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump.
Crump said the two victims were among six people in a house near 19th and Southern avenues when they were awakened by the attack about 4:30 a.m.
Police were still trying to determine the motive, Crump said. Police were searching for the suspect, who drove from the house after the attack.
The victims' injuries were serious, but not believed to be life-threatening, police said.
No other information was immediately available.
