The trial of a Saudi air force sergeant continued on Tuesday, the mother and grandmother of the alleged victim taking the stand.
Mazen Alotaibi is accused of raping a then-13-year-old boy at the Circus Circus Hotel-Casino on New Year's Eve, 2012.
Before Alotaibi's trial resumed, Judge Stefany Miley made sure the 24-year-old understood what was being said.
"Were they translating to you in Arabic?" Miley asked.
"Yeah, I understand in Arabic," Alotaibi responded.
A day after the alleged underage victim took the stand, the prosecution questioned his mother.
The alleged victim's grandmother also testified, and told the court she was the one who now-14-year-old boy had come to Las Vegas with.
On Monday, the teen said it was after he left his grandmother that morning when he met Alotaibi and asked to buy marijuana from him.
The teen said he smoked pot with Alotaibi in an ally before heading to his room to buy more marijuana from him. That's when he claimed he was raped.
Afterward, the teen said he was able to escape and tell hotel security.
In court on Tuesday, several of those officers recalled going into Alotaibi's room where he was with three other men shortly after the alleged sexual assault.
"I kept scanning the room for weapons or to see if they had anything in their hands, and Mr. Alotaibi there kept digging in his pockets. So I told him get your hands out of your pockets," a Circus Circus security guard testified.
The defense claims Alotaibi was intoxicated during the incident.
The prosecution questioned those Circus Circus security officers about if Alotaibi and others who were inside his room seemed drunk.
"He wasn't smashed beyond how some people get, he was still somewhat following directions. He didn't slur his words," one officer testified.
Alotaibi has not taken the stand. His defense attorney told FOX5 he hasn't ruled that out as an option.
