LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
The upcoming Vegas Valley Comic Book Festival will showcase the debut of a locally created comic book made possible through crowdfunding.
Tales from Lost Vegas was funded with nearly $7,000, the result of more than 100 backers on the crowdfunding website Kickstarter. Creators said the all-ages book got most of its funding from the Las Vegas area.
Beginning Friday, Oct. 25, Alternate Reality Comics at 4110 S. Maryland Parkway will set up an exhibit offering a first glimpse of Tales from Lost Vegas. Creators will be on hand for an artist reception from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The exhibit is expected to be on display through Nov. 22.
The book is the third in a series of locally-centric comics that benefit the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District Foundation's support of the comic book festival.
