A child was struck by a car near a school bus stop in the downtown Las Vegas area, police said Monday.
Las Vegas Metro police reported the crash near Bruce Street and Mesquite Avenue at about 7:15 a.m.
Police said a Clark County School bus was stopped to load students on board with its flashing stop sign on. While the bus was loading, a car drove by the CCSD vehicle and struck a child, according to police.
The child was rushed to Sunrise Hospital Trauma with non-life threatening injuries.
Metro advised drivers to avoid the area while officers investigated the crash.
