LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police were looking for a gunman who wounded two people, one of them critically, in a neighborhood near downtown Las Vegas.

The shooting happened just before 7 p.m. at a home in the 1200 block of Ivy Lane, near Martin Luther King Boulevard and Owens Avenue. Investigators said shots were fired at a large gathering in a home, after a dispute turned violent.

A Las Vegas Metro Homicide lieutenant said when officers arrived at the home, they found a man shot in the head. The man was taken to University Medical Center for treatment with a life-threatening injury.

Metro said another person who fled from the same area later showed up at UMC with a gunshot wound in the hip. The second victim's injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Police have not been able to establish if the shooting was gang related.

Police did not immediately identify a suspect in the shooting.

Police urged anyone with information about the shooting to contact Metro's Homicide Section at 702-828-3521 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
