LAS VEGAS (AP) -

A 320-pound disabled green sea turtle is now paddling around a Las Vegas aquarium after an odyssey that included a cross-country trip in a FedEx plane.

Officials at the Mandalay Bay casino say they released "OD" into the main tank at The Shark Reef Aquarium Monday, after he spent several weeks in quarantine.

OD was rescued in the Florida Keys in 2008 and treated in the Florida-based Turtle Hospital, but was unable to be released due to an irreparable collapsed lung.

The Mandalay Bay offered to give him a permanent home in their 1.3-million-gallon exhibition tank, and he was shipped to Las Vegas via FedEx in July.

OD, whose name is short for "Ocean Diver," joins two other green sea turtles and several other species in his new home.
