A construction worker was airlifted to University Medical Center after a fall in Henderson Thursday.
Henderson Fire Department received a call of the incident at about 7 a.m. in the area of Horizon Ridge Parkway and Gibson Road.
The fire department said a person working on a storm drain fell into a manhole. The bottom of the manhole measure 15 feet from the top, fire officials said.
The fire department said the worker was conscious but unable to escape the confined space due to his injuries. HFD's Technical Rescue Team was needed to remove the worker.
The worker was airlifted to UMC Trauma with severe injuries, the fire department said.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the incident.
