According to Las Vegas Metro police, 51-year-old Robert Johnson separated from his Harley Davidson-model bike after hitting a raised center traffic control island on Valley View Boulevard near Pennwood Avenue at 9:19 p.m.

Citing evidence and witness statements, police said Johnson was traveling northbound on Valley View approaching Pennwood, when he was unable to avoid hitting the traffic control island.
