LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Air was still delaying some flights Monday amid inspections of the emergency slides on some of its aircraft that started Friday morning.

In a statement, the budget airline said it had discovered a compliance issue Thursday, which required an immediate inspection and overhaul of the emergency exit slides of its fleet of MD80 airplanes. The company said it expected to complete the process by the end of September.

According to a statement on the company's website Monday, eight flights to and from McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas were delayed by a day. Those flights included:

  • No. 438 with service from Las Vegas (LAS) to Northwest Arkansas (XNA)
  • No. 439 with service from XNA to LAS
  • No. 432 with service from LAS to Moline/Quad Cities, IL (MLI)
  • No. 433 with service from MLI to LAS
  • No. 482 with service from LAS to Grand Rapids, MI (GRR)
  • No. 483 with service from GRR to LAS
  • No. 472 with service from LAS to Shreveport, LA (SHV)
  • No. 473 with service from SHV to LAS

The airline said travelers who are affected will be directly contacted. It said those travelers will be compensated with vouchers of up to $200 for future travel.

Allegiant recommended passengers call 702-505-888 or visit allegiantair.com/flight-status to check the status of their flight.
