Hundreds laced up their running shoes Sunday morning for a good cause.
The 4th annual Lorraine's 5K run and walk benefits Lorraine's Soup Kitchen and Pantry in Chicopee.
Hundreds of runners ran through Chicopee Memorial State Park to help raise money for operating and food purchasing costs for the pantry.
Organizers hope to raise more than $20,000 that they say benefits more than just the food pantry.
"It's really about the community of Chicopee and the greater good, because we see 40 to 50 families a day that come through our pantry. That's an awful lot," said Executive Director of Lorraine's Soup Kitchen and Pantry, Kim Goulette.
Last year Lorraine's Soup Kitchen and Pantry delivered more than two tons of food to needy families in their community.
