Police said a man robbed a person at gunpoint after meeting online through social media.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, the hold-up happened at about 5 p.m. on Aug. 29 in the area of Flamingo Road and El Capitan Way.

Police said the suspect and victim were walking together before the assailant pulled a gun. The suspect pointed the weapon at the victim's head and demanded all that person's money.

After obtaining money, the suspect fled on foot, police said.

Citing the victim, police said the pair met electronically through social media just two days before the incident.

Police urged anyone with information on the suspect to contact Metro's Robbery Section at 702-828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
