LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

McCarran Airport Public Information Administrator Christine Crews confirmed to FOX5 that an Allegiant Airlines flight was evacuated Monday afternoon.

Flight 436 was on the taxiway when smoke started billowing from the cockpit just before 3 p.m.

"The crews did what they're trained to do when there's a report of smoke like that, and that's the decision to evacuate the aircraft. So they did deploy the slide and evacuated on the airfield," said Allegiant Air spokesman Brian Davis.

There are no reports of injuries.

Passenger Cheryl Dorsey, who provided the photos which accompany this story, said the flight was bound for Peoria, IL. She additionally said passengers boarded a replacement plane at 5:20 p.m.

"We never want to speculate, so there will be an investigation. There were reports of smoke in the aircraft. Initial reports were of smoke in the cabin. Unfortunately, I don't have any more detail than that," Davis said. "There will be a thorough investigation to follow about the cause and details of what took place in the cabin."
