A woman became the third person charged with murder in a slaying of a man whose body was found in an east Las Vegas dumpster.

According to a criminal complaint, Theresa Allen, 46, was also charged with conspiracy to commit murder in connection to the death of Carl Rane Simon, 50.

Authorities said Simon's body was found stuffed in a rolling suitcase located in a dumpster in the area of East Lake Mead and North Nellis boulevards Aug. 12.

Late last month, two men – Emilio Arenas and Peyton Hemingway – were each arrested in California as part of the investigation into Simon's slaying.

Criminal complaints showed the two men engaged in an argument with Simon inside an apartment in the 4800 block of Boulder Highway. Citing witnesses who included Allen, Las Vegas Metro police wrote, in the complaint, the men were angry about Simon taking their money and failing to return with narcotics.

The witnesses, as stated in the complaint, said they left during the fight but later returned to find Simon nowhere in the apartment. In addition, the witnesses told police, in the complaint, some bed sheets were missing when they returned.

Despite the original statement Allen gave, she admitted, in her own arrest report, to staying and participating in what ultimately led to Simon's death.

According to the report, when she was confronted by detectives, Allen said she helped clean blood off one of the suspect's shoes as well as apply black tape to a suitcase that would enclose Simon's body.

In addition, Allen, in the report, stated Simon was stuffed into the suitcase while alive, prompting the two suspects to place the bag into a tub and drown him.

In addition, the report also stated Hemingway's denial of his part in the slaying, despite admitting to being present for the incident.

For Arenas' part, the report stated finding spots of blood and a roll of black tape in a vehicle belonging to the suspect when he was arrested last month in San Diego.

Allen was booked into Clark County Detention Center on Friday. A felony arraignment was slated for Tuesday, according to a CCDC inmate database.
