PD: Victim bites suspect in attempted purse-snatching

PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police are looking for a woman who tried to steal a woman's purse in a gas station parking lot before the victim bit her on the wrist.

The woman approached the victim about 10:45 p.m. Aug. 27, in the parking lot of a Chevron station at 7001 N. 16th St. and asked her for a ride, money and food.

She then reached into the victim's car and grabbed a purse in the front seat.

The 68-year-old victim grabbed her purse and then bit the suspect on the left wrist, forcing her to release the purse.

The suspect was last seen walking south on 16th Street from the parking lot.

The suspect is described as white, 50 to 55 years old, 5'5" to 5'6" tall, with blond hair and wearing a dark shirt.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered by Silent Witness for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
