LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A man who was a teenager at the time he confessed to his role in the 2010 slaying of a Hooters casino worker is slated to be sentenced Wednesday.

Richard Freeman, 22, faces sentencing in Las Vegas Justice Court at 8:30 a.m.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, Freeman admitted to police that he and Gregory Hover kidnapped 21-year-old Prisma Contreras at gunpoint in January 2010.

Police said Contreras was taken just after she got off work at a restaurant inside the Hooters hotel-casino. A police report said Contreras was stabbed to death before her body was set on fire in a desert area near Boulder City.

An arrest report also said Hover and Freeman, who was 18 at the time, broke into Romero's home just 10 days after Contreras' death. Investigators said Hover shot Romero and his wife Roberta. Julio died days later but Roberta survived, sustaining a gunshot to the face, authorities said.

In May, Hover was given the death penalty on counts including multiple murder with a deadly weapon charges.

Freeman was convicted on murder, arson, burglary, sexual assault, robbery and multiple conspiracy charges.
