LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

A Las Vegas man charged with murder claimed he was attacked by his neighbor inside his home before shooting him dead.

In an arrest report released Monday, Troy Martinez, 32, told investigators he was punched in the face by neighbor Brandon Kuhn before a shooting occurred on Sept. 5 inside a home in the 1400 block of Amitola Avenue.

Martinez claimed, in the report, of shooting Kuhn during a struggle at Martinez's home. Police, in the report, though, found no signs of a struggle inside the home and saw no apparent marks or bruises on Martinez's face.

The situation stemmed from a shooting that was reported about 11:30 p.m., according to Metro.

Police said Kuhn was found with several gunshot wounds in the master bedroom of the home. Officers also said Martinez's wife and two small children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

Martinez told police, in the report, Kuhn was invited to the home to watch football on the night of his death. After the game, Martinez said in the report, he and Kuhn already had several alcoholic drinks when they were talking in the kitchen of the home.

The two talked about Kuhn's marital problems, Martinez was stated saying in the report, when the struggle happened.

The fight, according to Martinez in the report, spilled out to the living room and then into the bedroom, where Martinez grabbed his registered Glock handgun and shot Kuhn.

Martinez said in the report, he shot the victim twice, but authorities found Kuhn had been struck nine times by bullets.

Police also learned from Martinez's wife, in the report, the couple's 2-year-old son was placed asleep on the master bedroom's mattress just before the shooting.

Martinez was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on counts of murder with a deadly weapon and child endangerment.
