Shooting investigation closes Owens Avenue

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Lockdowns at three schools in northeast Las Vegas were lifted Thursday amid an investigation of a shooting.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, calls of the shooting came in about 1 p.m. in the 4900 block of East Owens Avenue.

Police said one person sustained gunshot wounds and was self-transported to a local hospital. Police also noted several vehicles parked at the scene were hit by gunfire.

Metro police could not disclose whether a suspect was in custody.

Police said traffic was closed on Owens between Nellis Boulevard and Marion Drive.

Metro did not specify which schools were affected by lockdowns.
