LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Authorities in Texas located three endangered children who were supposed to be on their way back to Las Vegas.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, Vickierae Lopez, 26, picked her three children up from her mother's Houston home on Tuesday afternoon to return them to Las Vegas.

Police said Lopez has been separated from her military husband, who is stationed near Las Vegas, for a month. Houston TV station KTRK reported the children were found safe with their mother about 375 miles away near Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, TX.

Authorities said Lopez texted her mother, stating she was thinking of committing suicide with the children, possibly by driving off a bridge.

Police on Tuesday night reported the children were located safely and that a suspect has been taken into custody. KTRK reported siblings were placed in Child Protective Services custody.
