Las Vegas Metro police's monthly First Tuesday outreach to residents is focusing on narcotics and disaster preparedness.
September's informational event aims to teach parents the "ever-changing world" of narcotics, according to Metro. Metro said the public will get information on commonly abused drugs by school-aged kids and how parents can identify them.
Police will also provide preparation tips for natural disasters as part of Disaster Preparedness Month.
The open house program takes place each first Tuesday of every month at 7 p.m. at the various Metro area commands.
