Henderson man faces DUI charges in fatal Saturday crash

HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

Police believe speed and alcohol were factors in a fatal crash early Saturday morning.

According to police, 24-year-old Arnold Cheung, of Henderson, was driving a BMW 550i eastbound on Pebble Road approaching Carnegie Street around 2:20 a.m. Cheung failed to stop at the stop sign and continued straight across the intersection and struck the block wall, police said.

Cheung was pulled from the car and taken to Sunrise Hospital. His passenger died at the scene.

Police say a preliminary investigation indicated that speed and alcohol appeared to be factors in the crash. Blood was drawn from Cheung at the hospital for testing. He faces a DUI with death charge if his blood alcohol content is over the legal limit, according to police

The roadway was closed for about four hours while fatal accident investigators conducted their investigation.

The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the man's name after his family has been notified.

The man's death was the fourth traffic-related fatality in Henderson this year.
