LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police said an armed man has been robbing fast-food restaurant customers who wait for their purchases in drive-through lanes.

According to Las Vegas Metro police, at least five incidents in August have been reported of a man holding up patrons.

Police said the suspect, who was identified as a black male between 20 and 40 years old, approached the vehicles and demanded money while armed with a handgun.

A Metro sergeant said the incidents occurred in an area centralized between Las Vegas Boulevard near Stratosphere hotel-casino and near Maryland Parkway and Twain Avenue.

Police also said the incidents have commonly occurred between midnight and 2 a.m.

Metro noted the possibility of more than one person committing the crimes.

Metro advised people to be aware and remain cautious while using fast-food drive-through lanes.

In addition, police urged anyone with information about the case to contact Metro's Robbery Section at 702-828-3591 or Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
