Three Somerville high school students were arrested in connection with a sexual assault that happened at a camp in Otis Sunday, Aug. 25.
According to Berkshire District Attorney David F. Capeless, 17-year-old Galileo Mondol and two 16-year-old juvenile males were arrested Friday by Massachusetts state police detectives. Capeless said the incident occurred at Camp Lenox in Otis, where the city of Somerville had rented the facility for team-building activities for its fall sports teams.
According to Capeless, the defendants, juniors at Somerville High School, entered a cabin occupied by freshman students and assaulted three victims.
Mondol faces several charges including aggravated rape of a child under 16, assault with intent to rape a child under 16 and assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon.
The two 16-year-old males will be were arraigned in Berkshire Juvenile Court, in Pittsfield, on similar charges.
