A Las Vegas woman was arrested Wednesday after police said she hired a hit man to kill her husband.
According to an arrest report from Las Vegas Metro police, investigators were told about the plot by a man from the United Kingdom who claimed he met 48-year-old Leslie Zdehovan on a dating website. The report said that the man came to Las Vegas and met Zdehovan in person in mid-August.
In the report, the man told investigators that while he and Zdehovan were staying at a hotel, she returned to the room after being gone for several hours and informed him that she had met with a man who she was interested in hiring to kill her husband. According to the report, the man left Zdehovan at the hotel and called police.
The man helped arrange a meeting between an undercover detective and Zdehovan a few days later, according to the report. The report said that Zdehovan acknowledged the plot against her husband during a conversation with the detective, saying she agreed to pay a man named "Willy" $12,000 for the hit.
During the conversation, the detective convinced Zdehovan to hire him instead of "Willy" to carry out the plot, according to the report. That was when Zdehovan was arrested.
Zdehovan, who was booked into the Clark County jail under the last name of Lachance, was charged with solicitation of murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
