A 3-year-old child whose mother was wanted for fleeing Sweden with him was recovered safely in southern Nevada.
According to the office of state Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto, the child was recovered safely on Aug. 23 as investigators executed a warrant issued by Clark County Family Court.
The child's mother is Anastasija Juarez, who, Masto's office said, took the boy in a violation of a joint custody agreement with the 3-year-old's father.
Masto's office said the 29-year-old mom left Sweden with the child last November. An arrest warrant was issued for Juarez throughout Europe.
On Tuesday, a Nevada judge ordered the child be returned to Sweden and his father's custody.
Masto's office did not say whether the woman was taken into police custody as a result.
