LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Police said a motorcyclist who was killed in a crash east of the Las Vegas Strip on Tuesday afternoon was erratically driving before the crash.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Paradise Road.

Las Vegas Metro police said witnesses reported the driver of the motorcycle, identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as 30-year-old Fredrick Pete, of Henderson, was speeding and weaving in and out of traffic just before the crash happened. They said two vehicles were stopped for a red light when the motorcycle hit the back of one of the vehicles. They said the bike then slid into the second car.

Pete was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he later died.

Police said the crash is under investigation.
