14 displaced in N. Las Vegas house fire

NORTH LAS VEGAS, NV (FOX5) -

North Las Vegas fire officials said 14 people were displaced following a fire at a single-story house Friday afternoon.

The fire broke out at a home on E. Cartier Avenue, near Civic Center Drive and Bruce Street, at 3:16 p.m.

Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the house. Crews were able to battle the blaze from inside the house.

All 14 residents - four adults and 10 children - were able to escape the house unharmed. The house is uninhabitable, and those displaced are being aided by the American Red Cross.

Investigators said the fire appears to have been accidental. The damage is estimated at $30,000.
