LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
This year's winner of the FOX show Hell's Kitchen has turned down a job at Gordon Ramsay's restaurant in Las Vegas.
Ja'Nel Witt, season 11 winner of the cooking competition, announced via Twitter on Wednesday that she will not be taking the job offered her at the Gordon Ramsay Pub and Grill at Caesars Palace.
"Due to personal matters, I will not be joining the team in Las Vegas," Witt posted on her Twitter account. "I wish them continued success."
In a statement, ITV Studios, which produces the show, said unforeseen personal circumstances will prevent Witt from accepting the position.
"[This] is a huge disappointment for Ja'Nel and all of us," the production house said in the statement. "She's an incredible talent, and we all wish her much success with the next chapter of her career."
Via Twitter, Witt thanked Ramsay, Caesars Palace and her fans for what she called an amazing experience.
The personal matter may have involved drugs, according to TMZ. The entertainment news website reported that Witt failed a drug test and was not allowed to accept the position.
