LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Las Vegas was ranked among the best cities in the country for fans of one of the country's largest spectator sports - NASCAR.

According to Movoto, a real estate website, Las Vegas placed fifth among the best cities for fans of the auto-racing sport to live.

Several factors were used to rank each of the 23 cities that host Sprint Cup races each year, including a veteran NASCAR beat writer's opinion, fan participation, top speeds at each of the tracks and the number of cautions during a race.

According to the website, the Las Vegas Motor Speedway placed high on the list due to its proximity to the abundant entertainment options in Las Vegas. The Speedway has an annual attendance percentage of 114.5 and a speed record of 146.554 mph.

Las Vegas fell only four spots behind the cradle of NASCAR itself - the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, NC.

In last place was the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, KY.
