LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis has done everything but open her own restaurant. Now she's getting on that, and has chosen Las Vegas as the location.

Caesars Entertainment on Wednesday announced its upcoming Strip resort, Gansevoort Las Vegas, will house the chef, author and TV personality's first restaurant, expected to open in 2014.

The still unnamed restaurant will be located on the second level of the resort, offering views of the Strip as well as the Fountains of Bellagio, according to a release.

"Ever since I was a little girl hanging out at my grandfather's restaurant, I've dreamed of having a restaurant of my own," De Laurentiis said. "I've held back on past opportunities because I really wanted to be ready for the responsibility and challenges that come with a restaurant."

The cuisine, of course, will be Italian, but with what is described as lighter, California influences.

"Giada is a gem. She's the first celebrity chef to join the Caesars Entertainment family in Las Vegas and will fit right in with our lineup of many renowned chefs, including Bobby Flay, Gordon Ramsay, Nobu Matsuhisa and Guy Savoy," said Caesars Entertainment Regional Vice President of Food and Beverage Jeffrey Frederick.

Gansevoort Las Vegas, slated to open in early 2014, will feature 188 guests rooms, a 40,000-squre-foot casino and a lobby bar.
