HENDERSON, NV (FOX5) -

The Clark County Coroner's office released the name of a man who was shot by Henderson police officers during a shoot-out early Tuesday.

According to medical examiners, Edward John Scheboth, 63, died of a gunshot wound of the head as a result of the incident.

Henderson police said Scheboth was the person who shot at officers in the area of Boulder Highway and College Drive about 8 a.m.

According to police, the suspect walked up to a female officer who was in her police vehicle assisting a fatal auto-pedestrian collision that happened earlier that morning.

The suspect, according to police, pulled out a handgun and opened fire on the officer's vehicle, shooting out one of the windows.

Police said the officer was able to drive away from the scene and call for back-up.

Officers working nearby responded to the scene, police said. Police said the man opened fire at their vehicle, prompting three officers to shoot the suspect.

The suspect was taken to Sunrise Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police said none of the officers in the incident were hurt.

Police said the suspect rode a motorcycle to the area and parked it across Boulder from the first officer. Police noted three handguns were found on the suspect as well as a rifle found on his bike.

Henderson police served a search warrant at a house on McBride Way, not too far from the scene of the shooting, on Tuesday afternoon. Police have not yet disclosed why that warrant was served.
